United Way of Southeast Georgia is inviting Bulloch County residents to play a direct role in strengthening the local nonprofit sector by joining its Community Investment Committee (CIC), a volunteer group that helps review and recommend funding for area organizations.

The committee is a key part of United Way’s grant-making process, ensuring transparency and accountability while directing resources to programs that address the community’s most pressing needs.

Volunteers selected for the CIC will review grant applications, participate
in nonprofit interviews, and may conduct site visits to evaluate program impact. The role is designed for individuals interested in community service, nonprofit work, or learning more about how charitable funding decisions are made.

To prepare volunteers, United Way will host an orientation session at 9:30am on Friday, March 6, at the Outreach Center classroom, located at 515 Denmark Street in Statesboro. During the session, participants will receive an overview of the grant review process and expectations for committee members.

The total time commitment is approximately 8–12 hours between March 9 and March 20, 2026, culminating in funding recommendations for the upcoming grant cycle.

United Way officials say the committee plays an important role in ensuring that community voices help shape how donor dollars are invested locally.

Those interested in serving are encouraged to sign up by Tuesday, March 3 using the online form:
